Historically, Washington Hospital Center supplied the Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) its chilled water needs. Because of the planned expansion of the Washington Hospital Center, CNMC had to build its own facility within a tight timeframe.
CNMC turned to Harris, a long time preferred mechanical contractor, to serve as the prime contractor for the entire project. A new building structure was built adjacent to the glass facade of the building and the emergency room vehicle ramp.

The University of Kentucky’s (UK) new Pavilion A at the Albert B. Chandler Hospital is the cornerstone of a 20-year construction plan for this academic medical campus of the future. This 1,100,000-square foot hospital was completed in two phases, allowing for the step-by-step replacement of the hospital’s existing pavilion. Areas included an emergency department, surgery center, trauma center, radiology, specialty floors and patient rooms and an auditorium.

The Solar Energy Research Center (SERC) is a LEED Silver certified laboratory dedicated to finding alternative fuels. Harris was contracted to provide the HVAC ductwork and piping for a new 40,000-square foot facility.

On November 18th, 2016, the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System celebrated the grand opening of its New Orleans medical center with a ribbon cutting. Harris manufactured and installed more than 2,000,000 pounds of ductwork for the new medical campus and provided design-assist services.
