Children’s National Medical Center Chiller Plant

Historically, Washington Hospital Center supplied the Children’s National Medical Center (CNMC) its chilled water needs. Because of the planned expansion of the Washington Hospital Center, CNMC had to build its own facility within a tight timeframe. CNMC turned to Harris, a long time preferred mechanical contractor, to serve as the prime contractor for the entire project. UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital Pavilion A

The University of Kentucky’s (UK) new Pavilion A at the Albert B. Chandler Hospital is the cornerstone of a 20-year construction plan for this academic medical campus of the future. This 1,100,000-square foot hospital was completed in two phases, allowing for the step-by-step replacement of the hospital’s existing pavilion. Solar Energy Research Center

The Solar Energy Research Center (SERC) is a LEED Silver certified laboratory dedicated to finding alternative fuels. Harris was contracted to provide the HVAC ductwork and piping for a new 40,000-square foot facility. The SERC project had limited lay-down area which required just-in-time delivery on all materials and equipment. Veterans Affairs Medical Center New Orleans

On November 18th, 2016, the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System celebrated the grand opening of its New Orleans medical center with a ribbon cutting. Harris manufactured and installed more than 2,000,000 pounds of ductwork for the new medical campus and provided design-assist services. Harris partnered with JW McClenahan and DPR Construction to design, coordinate and install complete HVAC systems for the new Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH). Mayo Clinic Richard O. Jacobson Building

Mayo Clinic opened the first facility in the Midwest capable of providing proton beam therapy used to treat cancer. The building features four treatment rooms that include a three-story, 190-ton mechanical apparatus (gantry) needed for the proton beam and a 20-ton magnet to guide the beam. Harris installed mechanical systems that were designed to accommodate the anticipated expansion of Abbott Northwestern Hospital into a newly constructed a 6,600-square foot mechanical penthouse built on the rooftop of the hospital’s East Tower.
