Topaz Ebay Data Center Phase I

Project Topaz is a 250,000-square-foot, two-level, Tier IV mission critical data center located in South Jordan, Utah. The center is comprised of multiple active-power and cooling distribution paths, has 2N redundant mechanical systems and is fault tolerant. There is a small administration office totaling approximately 30,000 square feet. The remainder of the facility consists of a data center, electrical support areas, and mechanical rooms. This clean-build project was awarded LEED Gold certification in October 2010.

Harris furnished and installed the project’s mechanical systems on an extremely fast-track project schedule. The challenging schedule gave Harris the opportunity to showcase its strength in delivering collaborative projects under tight deadlines.

Additional work included engineered seismic restraints for the installed systems to further ensure reliability. Harris’ on-site work force peaked at approximately 80 persons.
