St. Olaf College Ice Arena

This project consisted of remodeling the old field house on the St. Olaf College campus into a new hockey arena. The ice arena is located inside Skoglund Fieldhouse. The updated design includes an NHL-size rink, seating for 800 fans, locker rooms for varsity hockey, and other ice-related program spaces.

Locating the rink inside Skoglund allowed for the campus to reuse an existing building envelope that already had the required utility infrastructure. The project also utilized other strategies to support cost-efficiency and sustainability, such as a multi-stage ammonia refrigeration system and heat reclamation.

Harris installed a new AHU, ductwork, heat exchangers, pumps, radiant heating and VAV.
