Harris Supports Next Generation of Welders at Southeast Minnesota High School Welding Competition
(ROCHESTER, Minn.) – Harris was proud to attend the Annual Southeast Minnesota High School Welding Competition, recently hosted by Local 6 Plumbers and Pipefitters at their training center in Rochester.
This year’s event brought together more than 400 students from across the state, offering them the opportunity to demonstrate their welding skills and learn more about careers in the skilled trades. Approximately 170 students competed in hands-on welding challenges, completing multiple welds within a 24-minute time limit. Their work was judged and scored by industry professionals.
In addition to the competition, the event included a career fair that connected students with companies and organizations representing welding, manufacturing and other skilled trades. Harris was proud to host a table and engage with these motivated young individuals. The Harris team enjoyed discussing career pathways and the opportunities available in the skilled trades.
