DC2 Power Upgrade

A confidential client retrofitted additional space in their existing data center to house more servers. With the increase in capacity came the need to upgrade the mechanical systems responsible for keeping the data center cool. Harris was contracted to install the data center’s new backup generator and associated HVAC and piping.

In addition to the generator, Harris provided and installed new fuel oil piping as well as the day tank and stack for the new generator. Finally, new computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units were installed.

The data center is a secure and clean environment. Harris and its subcontractors took extra steps and followed protocol to ensure the client’s satisfaction. The relatively remote worksite necessitated careful planning and good communication to ensure goods and labor arrived at the jobsite on time.
